Name: Taylor
Age: 15
The day Michael Jackson passed away I was in the car with my Grandma, Aunt and my two cousins at Costco in Tucson, Az. We found out through a celebrity's twitter and it was the first time Costco was quiet. We all became quiet and began to call all of our friends and relatives to tell them the news.
We all felt like we had lost a part of ourselves, and even more over the days I have felt like a part of me is gone. Over the years I have become a big fan of Michael Jackson and can now not stop listening to his music and watching his timeless performances. He has done great things for our world and changed us forever, long live the king. I wish the best for his family, he will be missed.

I was driving home from Phoenix AZ. when my daughter called to tell me Michael Jackson died. I made her repeat it to me 3 times as I felt the wind come out of me. I had a flash back to when I was a kid and how I made my next door neighbor Alison Smith watch me do my own version of Thriller several times in my living room. I felt a piece of my childhood leave me forever.

I was at home on a meeting when my wife gave me a phone call. I didn't believe her, so I went to the computer and looked it up to find it was true. I was shocked at the news.

  3. I was on my way to Los Angelas about an hour out and my boyfriend's friend texted us the bad news. We didn't believe it so we put on the radio. We found out so early that the radio stations had not even received word. It was not until we got to our destination that we put on the television and they began to announce. It seemed like all of LA had shut down.
Immediately, I felt so sad that we lost such a talented person, he will be dearly missed and his music will live on forever!

  4. I was in the middle of my favorite MJ joke (the one with Neil Armstrong) when i was interupted by someone babbling about him being dead. No way I thought!!!!!! My Farrah was gone and no way was MJ going to steal her thunder! It was true though. I t was confirmed in my coworkers cube by the BBC (because they check their facts).
No one would know what is was like to be MJ his father in law (Elvis). At least the Beatles had each other. His genius and charisma was light on the world. A sad way to go for someone wo rought joy to so many.

  5. At work channel surfing. At first it was admitted to hospital. Nothing new. Then Coma, Hmm...Alarming. Then gone. Shocking news. I grew up w/ Michael as a boy in the Bronx, NY. Loved Off The Wall in college...

And watching the memorial today, still sort of shocked. He will live forever in our memory.

  7. I was researching a story online when I glanced at a headline that suggested Michael Jackson might be in critical condition. I didn’t believe it mostly because I didn’t want to. I chased down link after link refreshed page after page until the bad news I was dreading flashed on the screen. Damn.

  8. I was driving to work...Before I left the house, I heard that he was in the hospital...Right when I got to work, I heard that he had passed...

We never know when our card will be punched...Don't take it all for granted.

  9. I was driving home from the Apple Store, as I just purchased the new IPhone. As I was listening to one of my favorite talk shows, it was reported by TMZ.com that Michael Jackson was found dead. When I got home, I looked on the internet and turned on the TV for confirmation. I called my Dad and told him the news.

He was a great entertainer (probably on of the best ever), but he made some really poor choices in his personal life that cost him his sanity and eventually his life.

  10. I was with my family, in the parking lot of a Costco when I got the news about Michael Jackson's death. I read the news on my iPhone, to everyone in the car. Immediate shock hit my family and I. None of us could believe that the King of Pop had passed. It was an extremely sad moment for all of us.

Although I am young, I love his music and as I've gotten older, I have learned to truly appreciate him and what he did for the world. He was an amazing person, and he will never be forgotten. His legacy will always live. My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Jackson family. God bless.

  12. Hm. I think I was at home, just on Tumblr and Myspace and whatnot. I kept seeing spam about him dying and I thought it was a joke. Then everyone was like TURN TO CNN. And then I was like "it's true." honestly, i loved singing along to his popular songs, but I never was a true, hardcore Michael Jackson fan. His death is tragic, because he truly is the king of pop. even if you didn't know his music that well. almost all of the music out today is a branch of something he started. he is a legend.

  14. June 25, the day Michael died, is also my birthday. I was a dinner with my family when I found out the news. My friend texted me asking "Did you hear what happened to Michael Jackson?" I said no and she told me the news. I sat there in complete silence... I though there was no possible way the King of Pop had passed. I looked it up on my iPhone, then announced it to my family, and they had the same reaction... disbelief.

Although I am young, I was and will always be a MJ fan. I remember one year my dance team did an entire Michael Jackson theme. I was the only one who new the words to the songs. I was 11 at the time. As I've grown older I've realized that not only was Michael an amazing singer/dancer, he was also an amazing person. RIP Michael Jackson, you will never be forgotten.

I can't sleep!!! I grew up listening to his music. I was in the city walking home from work when I heard someone yelling that the king of pop had a heart attack. I was frozen and I still feel numb.

His daughter Paris spoke of the true Michael Jackson today and that is all we need to know.
    God Bless his beautiful children

I was at costco when my daughter told me he had passed away. As everyone else, I was shocked and saddened for his children and mother. It is not up to me to judge him or anybody else for their personal choices and decisions. That is between him and the lord. However, I have fond memories of enjoying his music with my sisters when we were little girls. He was a wonderful entertainer and I will continue to pray for his family. They are in for a long healing process.

  19. I just got into my car after attending a seminar, then I imediately heard the news on the radio. I grew up listening to his music which is a big part of my memories as a child. We once had tickets to see his show, but he canceled because his hair caught on fire,so I held my own MJ concert in my room...it was awesome. Poor MJ

  20. I was at work, Courtney(my dtr) called from California on her way to six flags. She indicated that all
the radio stations had indicated he died, although the local Phoenix new stations did not confirm this information until later. I passed this information to my comrades in the cubicles and we all reflected on the impact that he made on our generation and the succeeding generations, not only with dancing, music, but how genius can
make people eccentric in their life styles. He truly was a fantastic performer and rightly called the "King of Pop".

I just got off a plane when I saw a crowd of people around a TV in the airport. I walked over to see what they were watching. A woman next to me started crying and then I realized why. Michael Jackson kept fighting to be accepted. He never felt accepted by his father. I felt sad for him as his children.

I hope people learn to stop judging one another.

Take a look at the person in mirror and make a change!

    I love you MJ

I was in a doctors office when one of the medical assistants asked me if I had heard that Michael Jackson died. I thought she was joking until I started getting text messages from friends and family saying he died. When I was 10 I wanted to be him. He will be missed.

There will never be another MJ.

The day Michael Jackson died i was on vacation in Guam. I was in the shower and all my cousins were yelling "Michael Jackson is dead!" I thought they were kidding and was just like whatever you guys. Then when i got out, I saw everyone sitting in front of the tv just watching the news. I was shocked and upset because he was such an inspiration. He has made a huge impact in peoples lives and will forever live on. His music and entertainment will always be around for sure. I wish the best for his whole family. Long live the Legend Michael Jackson. You are missed.

I was sleeping, and my mom woke me up saying, "Meg, they think Michael Jackson died!" So I woke up to watch the news with her until they confirmed Michael Jackson had died. The next day my aunt, cousin and I were going to meet our family, who had been camping on Mt. Lemmon. They had not heard the news yet, so we were anxious to tell them. When we broke the news to them, they refused to believe us until we showed them the newspaper. They still did not believe it.

  27. I was driving home from a meeting in Phoenix, when my coworker received a call from her daughter telling her that MJ has died. I was shocked. One of my earlies Christmas memories was receiving the Thriller album. My entire family and I used to listen to MJ and dance to everything from Jackson 5 to MJ. My sister and I were members of his fan club and wore buttons with his picture on them. Off the Wall and Thriller are two of the best albums of all time and are timeless. My heart aches for his family, especially his children. He is a legend taken too soon. He will live on through his music and it is my hope that his passing will raise awareness of prescription medication abuse. Abbey
